Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Seasonal Tax Preparer to work remotely for the 2027 tax season, February 1 through April 15. This fully paperless role supports individual and fiduciary returns in a high-volume environment.

Ideal candidates have foundational tax knowledge and can commit to at least 30 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM local time). Prior tax preparation experience is highly preferred, with a degree recommended.

Qualifications

• Previous tax preparation experience highly preferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Availability to work minimum 30 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM local time; Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes)
• Solid reading comprehension and ability to interpret tax documentation
• Basic understanding of tax and accounting terminology

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040 and/or 1041, along with related schedules)
• Process client financial data using tax preparation software
• Apply firm policies, tax regulations, and standardized procedures to deliver high-quality returns
• Collaborate within a centralized, fully remote team environment while managing individual productivity goals
• Demonstrate continuous learning and adaptation throughout the tax season
