Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Seasonal Tax Preparer to handle individual or fiduciary tax returns remotely from February 1, 2027 to April 15, 2027. The role focuses on accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality in a paperless environment with a non-client-facing setup.

This temporary position requires foundational tax knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow standardized procedures within a fully remote, team-based workflow.

Qualifications

• Previous tax preparation experience highly preferred.
• High School degree required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain an IRS issued PTIN prior to start date.
• Availability to work minimum 30 hours/week (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM local).

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040) and related schedules in a high-volume, remote environment.
• Process client financial data using tax software.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow firm procedures.
• Collaborate within a remote team while meeting productivity goals.
• Identify missing or incomplete information and note questions internally.
