Job summary

Lucidworks is hiring a Search Engineer on the Technical Support team to help government-contract customers maximize the value of Fusion. You will troubleshoot, document solutions, and collaborate with Engineering to shape the product. The role is fully remote, ideally aligned with Pacific Time, and requires US citizenship.

You will work with Lucene/Solr, Java, Kubernetes, and cloud/container tools, providing critical support and knowledge sharing across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with Lucene/Solr or comparable search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).
• 3+ years in a customer-facing technical support role.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
• Experience working with CRM (Salesforce or Zendesk) and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Field incoming questions and help customers configure Lucidworks Fusion and its components.
• Troubleshoot complex search issues across Lucene, Solr, and related distributed systems.
• Write clear, reusable knowledge base articles for the broader customer base.
• Spot opportunities to add value through follow-on products and services.
• Relay high-value use cases and customer feedback to Product and Engineering.
• Collaborate across teams to diagnose and resolve critical issues.
• Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays.
