Job summary

Tradeweb Markets is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design and maintain automated test frameworks for modern web applications in a trading context.

The role requires hands-on engineering, troubleshooting client-side issues, and collaboration with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure high-quality software delivery. Strong SQL and Python skills are essential; experience in trading platforms is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in software QA/testing, preferably in financial services or trading systems.
• Proven experience as an SDET/QA Automation Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Strong SQL skills for querying databases and validating data.
• Strong Python skills for utilities, automation, and data processing.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins; proficient with Git.
• Linux proficiency for CLI, scripting, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with automated testing for UI, API, and regression testing.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for web-based applications.
• Create and execute automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
• FIX Protocol knowledge, scripting and automation.
• Understand fixed-income products and related calculations and risk measures.
• Validate calculations and data accuracy in trading contexts.
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, product owners, and DevOps to ensure quality.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/Jenkins).
• Work in Linux environments for test execution, scripting, and automation support.
• Analyze defects, isolate root causes, and document issues clearly.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate test creation and debugging.
• Contribute to improving quality engineering practices and tooling.
