Job summary

The Jed Foundation (JED) is seeking a Consultant for Mental Health & Suicide Prevention to support partner high schools nationwide. The role emphasizes strategic planning, program delivery, and data-driven guidance to improve student mental health and prevent suicide and substance use.

Based remote from NYC within the NYC Tri-State Area, you will travel up to 30% and collaborate with senior consultants and program staff to advance JED’s High School Programs and related initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s level training in education, educational leadership, counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
• 5–7 years professional experience with PK-12 schools.
• Strong knowledge of school mental health, suicide prevention, and substance use prevention.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with school contacts within your assigned portfolio (approx. 30 schools).
• Assist schools in developing and executing strategic plans and measuring efficacy of mental health promotion efforts.
• Provide ongoing support to participating JED schools on mental health promotion, suicide and substance abuse programming.
• Review school processes and analyze school data to inform guidance and support provided.
• Utilize Salesforce to record contacts and track progress, interventions, and resources.
