Job summary

Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Miami is seeking a Saturday Academy Instructor for 9th & 10th grade Advisory sessions. This remote, part-time role supports a nationally-led program with asynchronous prep and synchronous Saturday instruction via Zoom.

You will co-teach advisory periods, monitor student progress, and use Brightspace, Nearpod, and Google Workspace to deliver a rigorous curriculum. Strong ELA/Humanities expertise and a passion for equity are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in content-related field required.
• Teaching certification and/or K-12 classroom experience required.
• Comfortable with learning management systems and online tools.
• Student-centered pedagogy approach required.
• Experience with high school students required.
• Expertise in advanced high school ELA or Humanities required.
• Eagerness to discuss societal issues and causes of ills.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach three to four Advisory periods per week and cover when needed.
• Utilize Brightspace, Nearpod, GSuite, and Zoom in a blended environment.
• Prepare and adapt lesson plans to meet student needs.
• Host open-door tutoring sessions to reinforce skills.
• Model energetic, engaging classroom presence and positive culture.
• Attend meetings and trainings; respond promptly to communications.
• Work with instructional coaches to implement feedback.
