Job summary

Muon Space is hiring an Operations and Automation Engineer to design and implement automation for spacecraft and ground station operations, ensuring health, safety, and long-term performance of our satellite fleet. You’ll work with a small operator team to monitor and maintain ongoing missions and respond to anomalies.

The role emphasizes collaboration, data-driven problem solving, and the ability to work on autonomous systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of project or industry experience operating or automating complex systems.
• Experience with Python, Julia, or another high-level scripting language.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement automation solutions for spacecraft and ground station operations to enable flawless execution of missions.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to execute satellite operation plans and maintain continuity of services.
• Analyze telemetry data and satellite health reports to assess performance and identify issues.
• Troubleshoot anomalies and restore satellite functionality using established procedures.
• Plan and coordinate satellite maneuvers, including orbit corrections and station-keeping.
• Support integration of new satellites into the fleet and ensure smooth transition from launch to operations.
