Job summary

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Fellow (Systems Software Architect) to lead flight software for satellite programs.

You will drive requirements, architecture, verification, and risk management, while shaping processes and mentoring engineers in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment. The role emphasizes technical leadership, program management, and collaboration with DoD and international teams, with travel less than 20% and a focus on cutting-edge space

Qualifications

• Minimum 25 years with a bachelor’s degree, or 20 years with a master’s degree.
• Proven track record with aerospace software systems and end-to-end lifecycle expertise.
• Experience with flight software, simulators, configuration management, testing, and operations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead flight software program execution end-to-end across satellite programs.
• Perform requirements development, architecture development and trades, and verification planning.
• Lead program design reviews and coordinate with stakeholders and CM/ICB teams.
• Mentor junior staff, develop processes, and promote engineering rigor across the team.
• Collaborate with DoD and international partners to meet mission goals.
