Job summary

Lumenalta is seeking a Data Engineer (SAP) to design and implement SAP data pipelines landing into Databricks. You will work with SAP ECC/S/4HANA, build incremental CDC workflows, and transform data into clean Delta tables using PySpark and SQL.

You will collaborate with client data teams, validate outputs, and document reusable patterns to enable repeatable SAP data domain ingestion across engagements. Remote, US hours, full-time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering with production Databricks pipelines.
• Experience extracting SAP data from ECC or S/4HANA, including core modules (finance, sales, materials, supply chain).
• Experience SAP extraction approaches (ODP, BW extractors, SLT, SAP Datasphere).
• Experience implementing incremental and CDC ingestion patterns.
• Strong PySpark and SQL; working knowledge of Delta Lake.
• Experience with Databricks declarative pipelines or Delta Live Tables, Auto Loader, and Workflows.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Build ingestion pipelines for SAP data landing in Databricks per client architecture.
• Work with SAP table structures, relationships, and business objects.
• Implement incremental and CDC patterns and validate deltas.
• Transform landed SAP data into Delta tables using PySpark and SQL.
• Reconcile Databricks outputs against SAP for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify gaps and propose practical improvements to the ingestion architecture.
• Document reusable patterns, configurations, and runbooks for repeatability.
• Collaborate with client engineering and data teams in their tools and environments.
