Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a SAN Engineer / Storage Administrator to join a remote, federally funded healthcare modernization project. The role covers HA storage across HPE, NetApp, Pure Storage, and Brocade ecosystems, including Azure integration, data migration, backup, and performance optimization for VA healthcare environments.

You will collaborate with storage, systems, cloud, and vendor teams, maintain comprehensive documentation, and ensure availability and reliability of mission-critical systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or 8 years of related experience.
• 5+ years of professional storage and SAN experience.
• Experience with NetApp ONTAP, HPE 3PAR/Primera and related storage hardware.
• Experience configuring Fibre Channel SANs in on-prem and Azure environments.
• Backup and recovery expertise including Commvault.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation skills.
• Security/compliance familiarity with VA/federal environments.
• Experience with automation tools and AI-assisted workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and optimize enterprise SAN/storage infrastructure.
• Monitor capacity, performance, and availability across multiple storage platforms.
• Administer backup, recovery, and data protection operations.
• Support storage integration, data migrations, and cloud connectivity (Azure).
• Troubleshoot storage connectivity, hardware, firmware, and performance issues; coordinate with vendors.
• Maintain storage documentation, topologies, guides, and ATO materials; evaluate AI-assisted tooling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on storage initiatives.
