Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a HEDIS Medical Records Specialist to support chart collection, abstraction, and onsite reviews within the Quality Improvement department. You will coordinate with provider offices, verify information, and schedule visits to ensure timely audits across a 24/7 health system.

The role requires an RN license in Utah with at least three years of clinical nursing experience and familiarity with HEDIS software and EMR systems.

Qualifications

Three years of clinical and critical nursing experience.
Current RN license to practice in Utah, or eligible via Interstate Compact within 90 days.
Experience with HEDIS data collection and abstraction is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensures timely and accurate collection of medical records from provider offices.
Uses clinical knowledge to efficiently and accurately abstract HEDIS data from medical record into HEDIS software.
Call providers and request medical records.
Book appointments for HEDIS onsite chart review.
Communicate effectively and professionally with providers.
Research within the company's claim systems to identify provider location.
Retrieve previously scanned or filed information.
Oversee incoming and outgoing fax documents.
Assemble and scan and/or upload documents.
Maintain tracking log and calendar.
Work rotating schedules, including variable hours, weekends, nights, and holidays to meet staffing and patient care demands of a 24/7 complex health system. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance during assigned shifts is essential.
