Job summary

Clark Schaefer Consulting is seeking a Risk & Controls Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our growing team. The role is primarily remote, serving clients across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, with Cincinnati, Columbus, Miami Valley, or Louisville markets preferred for residence.

You will plan and execute risk, compliance, and advisory engagements, document processes, and help clients strengthen internal controls and navigate regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.
• Experience in public accounting, internal audit, or risk services preferred.
• CPA/CIA/CISA preferred and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk, compliance, and advisory engagements.
• Document business processes with narratives and flowcharts.
• Identify risks, controls, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop risk/control matrices and testing strategies.
• Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness.
• Identify internal control gaps and recommend solutions.
• Analyze results and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Prepare formal reports and present recommendations to leadership.
• Stay informed on regulations, trends, and technology.
• Support development of new risk service offerings.
