Job summary

Banner Health seeks a Risk Adjustment Coding Reviewer to conduct chart reviews and educate providers on coding accuracy. This remote role emphasizes independent work, leadership, and adherence to ICD-10-CM guidelines.

The ideal candidate has risk adjustment knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coach staff across multiple systems such as Cerner and NextGen. 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday, with AZ residency considerations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field.
Active AHIMA/CCS or AAPC CPC credentials preferred.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and HIPAA.

Responsibilities

Conduct medical record reviews to ensure diagnosis coding supports clinical indicators.
Query providers for missing or unclear documentation and obtain clarification.
Provide education and training on coding, documentation, and risk adjustment.
Assist with concurrent coding to meet department goals and maintain quality.
Perform chart reviews and data analysis to identify trends and improvements.
Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and stay current with coding regulations.
