Job summary

Dahl Consulting is seeking a Risk Adjustment Coding Auditor for a remote contract (6 months) with a nonprofit health organization. You will review medical records, validate CMS-HCC coding, and advise on documentation gaps to ensure accurate reimbursement and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of risk adjustment experience, 5+ years in HCC coding and auditing, CRC or equivalent certification, and strong analytics with MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant professional experience including work experience, education, or transferable skills.
• 5+ years of HCC coding experience with inpatient and outpatient coding guidelines.
• 5+ years of risk adjustment records auditing experience.
• 1+ year in a production-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform retrospective and prospective medical record reviews to validate risk adjustment coding accuracy.
• Audit provider-reported diagnosis codes for accuracy, completeness and documentation support.
• Review medical records to identify opportunities for complete CMS-HCC capture.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy, security and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor current risk adjustment regulations and coding guidelines.
• Provide feedback on coding errors, trends and improvement opportunities.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on risk adjustment coding processes.
