Job summary

Astrana Health is seeking a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder to support value-based care through accurate risk capture, documentation quality, and CMS compliance. You will collaborate with providers and clinical teams to improve risk adjustment performance.

Responsibilities include audits, education sessions, and ongoing awareness of ICD-10‑CM and CMS guidelines. This is a remote US-based role with a strong preference for West/Central time zones.

Qualifications

• Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) credential is required.
• Active AAPC or AHIMA certification (CPC/CCS-P/CCS or equivalent) is preferred.
• At least two years of risk adjustment or Medicare Advantage coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to ensure accurate risk-adjusting diagnoses per CMS guidelines.
• Perform retrospective and prospective HCC coding reviews to identify opportunities.
• Validate ICD-10-CM codes with clinical support and documentation.
• Conduct coding audits to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Educate providers and staff on coding and documentation best practices.
