Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking a licensed real estate/title attorney for a fully remote role focused on residential transactions. You will review and finalize title work for national clients with autonomy and high responsibility.

Candidates must be admitted to the South Carolina Bar, have 2+ years of residential title experience, and be able to manage a high-volume caseload remotely. Occasional in-person closings may be required in SC or Charlotte area.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active South Carolina Bar license required.
• 2+ years of residential real estate/title law experience.
• Experience handling title review, title opinions, and curative matters.
• Notary Public or willingness to obtain before starting.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and examine residential real estate titles from initial search through closing.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve title defects and curative issues.
• Prepare preliminary and final title opinions.
• Draft and review deeds, affidavits, powers of attorney, estate documents, releases, and other legal instruments.
• Advise clients, lenders, title companies, real estate agents, and internal team members on title-related legal matters.
• Review restrictive covenants, HOA documents, recorded instruments, and underwriting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state laws and title insurance guidelines.
• Manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and exceptional client service.
• Sign Final Title Opinions and other required attorney certifications.
• Collaborate closely with processors, paralegals, and closing attorneys to move transactions efficiently through closing.
