Job summary

The American Society for Hematology (ASH) in Washington, DC seeks a Manager, Research Studies to lead day‑to‑day planning and execution of assigned studies within the ASH Research Collaborative. You will coordinate with investigators, sites, funders, and internal teams to ensure studies meet scope, budgets, and timelines.

Responsibilities include managing IRB submissions, data quality, and study documentation, while guiding protocol development and compliance across study lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; master's degree or advanced training preferred.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience managing clinical, observational, or real-world health research studies.
• Knowledge of the research study lifecycle including protocol implementation, IRB oversight, and data management.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of assigned research studies from planning to closeout.
• Translate approved study concepts into actionable project plans with timelines, milestones, responsibilities, and deliverables.
• Monitor progress against protocol requirements, budgets, and timelines; identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Facilitate study meetings, document decisions and actions, and ensure timely follow-up.
• Manage one or more assigned studies and priorities while maintaining visibility into workload and resource needs.
• Oversee IRB submissions, reliance arrangements, continuing reviews, amendments, and reportable events.
• Maintain complete and current study documentation, training records, decisions, deviations, and required reports.
• Track protocol deviations, noncompliance, and other study issues; coordinate corrective actions and reporting.
