Job summary

Humana Inc. seeks a Research Scientist 2 for its Quality and Cost Strategy Analytics Team (Remote).

You will lead research and development of analytic solutions to improve population health and lower costs for Medicare Advantage beneficiaries, using statistics, epidemiology, and data science on large datasets. Collaborate with strategy and clinical partners to translate analytic results into actionable recommendations, and drive impact across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in healthcare and improving population health.
• Independent and collaborative working style in a multi-disciplinary team.
• 1–3 years applying mathematics, statistics, epidemiology or econometrics to transform large data into insights.
• Clear written and oral communication, translating complex methods to business insight.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Research, prototype and scale new ideas to improve population health and healthcare delivery.
• Collaborate with analytic and business teams to set objectives, approaches, and plans.
• Evaluate existing programs and measure new solutions to impact healthcare.
• Transform high volumes of data into analytics solutions and actionable insights.
• Define clinical concepts and extract information from medical, pharmacy, and lab claims for analytics and modeling.
