Job summary

Spotify is seeking Research Scientists across all seniorities to join the Artist-First AI Music Lab. You will advance state-of-the-art generative audio, focusing on vocal synthesis, post-training alignment, or audio editing, while collaborating with engineers, product managers and researchers.

You’ll publish findings at top venues, work with a massive user base and contribute to products that deeply connect artists with fans.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS, Math, Engineering or related field.
• Experience in generative modeling, ML, music information retrieval or related areas.
• Deep expertise in at least one focus area (speech/video/audio generation or alignment).
• Publications at leading venues (ICASSP/NeurIPS/ICML/etc.).
• Strong coding skills in Python, PyTorch and NumPy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct groundbreaking research in generative audio using diffusion or flow matching models.
• Run large-scale experiments leveraging Spotify infrastructure and user base.
• Create practical applications that push generative tech in listening experiences.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, product managers, designers and researchers.
• Publish findings and present at conferences and events.
