Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking a Research Administrator to provide comprehensive post-award support, ensuring compliance with sponsor and federal regulations while coordinating with PIs and central offices.

This role supports a shared service model across diverse grant types, with remote work eligibility and occasional on-campus needs for training and development. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and strong financial acumen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex government regulations and contractual terms.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
• Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Distribute monthly reporting including effort summaries, financial projections, and MER review confirmations.
• Serve as primary liaison between the PI, department, sponsor, and central offices.
• Establish, monitor, and reconcile budgets per sponsor guidelines.
• Manage effort reporting, salary allocations, and ECC compliance; coordinate payroll adjustments.
