Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking a Research Administrator to provide comprehensive post-award support for sponsored research projects. You will ensure compliance with federal and sponsor regulations while managing budgets, reporting, and audits.

Working within a shared service model, you will collaborate with PIs and central offices to promote timely, accurate financial stewardship and proactive problem solving across diverse research portfolios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must interpret and apply complex government regulations and contractual terms.
• Strong customer service skills, written and verbal communication, and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Distribute monthly reporting including effort summaries, financial projections, and MER review confirmations.
• Serve as liaison between PI, department, sponsor, and central offices to ensure transparent communication.
• Establish, monitor, and reconcile budgets per sponsor guidelines.
