Job summary

The role intersects engineering, operations, and regulatory affairs to ensure wells are permitted, drilled, completed, produced, and plugged in full compliance with OCC, WOGCC, BIA, and federal requirements.

You will provide accurate well data, deadlines, and technical support to the asset team.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in petroleum technology, engineering technology, geology, environmental science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas regulatory, engineering technician, or production support roles.
• Working knowledge of state oil and gas regulatory processes; direct experience with OCC and/or WOGCC filings strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to learn industry software quickly.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Permitting and Compliance — Prepare, file, and track drilling permits and related filings with OCC, WOGCC, and BIA; submit federal filings via BLM systems.
• Engineering Support — Maintain well files, gather data for evaluations, and support asset team with data and tests.
• Communication and Coordination — Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and communicate requirements to field staff and management.
• Stay current on rule changes and provide updates to internal procedures.
