Job summary

Witt O’Brien’s is seeking a Regulatory Specialist – Onshore Compliance to support clients remotely as a full-time staff member. You will interpret complex regulatory language, develop compliance manuals, and coordinate with multiple teams to resolve issues. The role requires 3+ years of experience with U.S.

regulations (e.g., SPCC, SWP3, PHMSA), strong written and verbal communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Occasional travel may be required to client sites.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience with one or more specified regulatory documents (Texas SWP3, SPCC Plans, FRPs, OSRPs, Emergency Response Plans).
• Knowledge of environmental regulations in energy or manufacturing sectors and ability to audit or prepare plans.
• Familiar with standard industry practices for handling hazardous materials and emergency response.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients and manage client expectations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and maintain relationships with assigned clients.
• Explain regulatory language in clear terms and develop new compliance manuals/plans.
• Collaborate with teams to identify and resolve regulatory issues.
• Act as EHS Manager when providing staff augmentation at client sites.
• Prepare project documents, proposals, and client presentations.
• Update and maintain various regulatory compliance plans.
• Interpret state and federal regulations to assist clients and perform fieldwork as needed.
• Visually inspect client sites and advise on achieving compliance.
• Serve as liaison between clients and regulatory agencies.
• Manage resources including budget, time, and personnel to maximize productivity.
