Qualificações

• High School or GED is required.
• Be a Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) with BLS certification.
• Two years of recent epilepsy long-term monitoring or related EEG lab experience.

Responsabilidades

• Perform long-term monitoring of patients using EEG equipment and video/ECG recording instruments.
• Present patient history, EEG/video data and radiologic studies during rounds for physicians.
• Describe seizures and frequency.
• List current medications and results of prior investigations.
• Describe examinations performed during monitoring unit admissions.
• Map and interpret ictal/interictal EEG/Video data.
• Prepare final reports detailing EEG patterns and semiology; train new staff.

Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute includes more than 300 medical, surgical and research specialists dedicated to the treatment of adult and pediatric patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders. The multidisciplinary institute offers a disease-specific, patient-focused approach to care. Cleveland Clinic is recognized in the U.S. and throughout the world for its expertise and care.

A caregiver in this position works flexible hours between 5:00am and 1:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform long term monitoring of adult and pediatric patients using closed circuit and digital audio/visual equipment and electrophysiological recording instruments.




• Present patient history and evolution, EEG and video data and radiologic studies in daily patient rounds for staff physicians.




• Describe current seizures and frequency.




• List current medications and results of previous investigations.




• Describe examination made during admission to the monitoring units.




• Map, classify an impression of ictal and interictal EEG/Video data.




• Write final report and detailed description of EEG patterns, seizure semiology, radiologic findings, mapping of ictal and interictal abnormalities and selection of representative EEG samples.




• Serve as an instructor for new personnel being trained to perform testing and care for long term monitoring patients.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School or GED




• Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) with Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification




• Two years of recent technical experience in epilepsy long term monitoring, routine EEG lab with exposure to long term monitoring on Bedside Monitoring systems or any combination of such experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Tech/computer experience

Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity in order to place electrodes precisely and to operate recording equipment.


• Ability to assist with positioning and transporting of patients, pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.


• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.


• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.

Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
