Job summary

Horrocks seeks a Regional Lead – Rail Engineer to guide its rail practice across multiple U.S. regions. You will provide technical leadership, drive project delivery, and manage key client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of rail experience, a PE license, and a proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams, mentoring staff, and growing the business. Travel regionally is required; familiarity with CAD and standard engineering software is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10+ years of rail, transit, railroad infrastructure experience.
• Willingness to travel regionally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional leadership for railroad projects and support growth within the assigned region.
• Lead planning, design, coordination, and delivery of rail projects (tracks, terminals, yards, etc.).
• Coordinate with railroad companies for DOT and municipal projects involving rail interfaces.
• Serve as senior technical resource for rail design, drainage, and related infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers and junior staff across multiple offices and project teams.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on staffing and resource planning.
