Job summary

Google is seeking a seasoned Government Affairs and Public Policy professional to lead policy and government affairs strategy across state markets in the U.S. You will coordinate a network of lobbyists, engage with governors, legislators, and trade associations, and align policy with Google Cloud’s infrastructure and growth goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• 7 years of experience on technology policy issues within government, industry, think tanks, public interest groups, law, or relevant industry associations.
• Experience within state and local government.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead Google Cloud's policy and government affairs strategy for assigned regional states.
• Manage and coordinate a network of contract lobbyists and public affairs firms to advance policy engagement.
• Build and maintain relationships with governors’ offices, state legislators, local officials, state agencies, and trade associations.
• Shape and advance Google's positions on issues including government procurement, energy, tax policy, permitting, and infrastructure development.
• Track and analyze legislation, regulation, and local policy trends that could affect operations, investment, or growth.
• Partner with internal technical teams and external stakeholders to advance infrastructure needs for users and customers.
