Job summary

CORTEK is seeking a Joint Training Requirements Specialist to support the National Guard Bureau. This remote role covers one of five regions, requiring travel within the continental United States and frequent collaboration with Joint Force Headquarters.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance required.
• 7+ years of experience in joint training, National Guard, or joint headquarters staff assignments.
• Experience across all four phases of the Joint Training System: requirements, plans, execution, and assessment.
• Experience developing or updating Joint Training Plans.
• Experience instructing or facilitating small group workshops at the senior leadership level.
• Experience conducting training on DoD readiness and training systems, including the Joint Training Tool or Joint Training Information Management System, and the DRRS/Joint Lessons Learned Information System.
• Ability to obtain a Common Access Card and to work on classified systems, including SIPRNet.
• Residence within the assigned region and ability to reach any Joint Force Headquarters on short notice.
• Willingness to travel 25–35% within the continental United States.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional/military experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• United States citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the assigned specialist for one region, engaging with each Joint Force Headquarters in your region.
• Conduct on-site visits to review training plans and readiness progress, identify gaps, and build customized training plans.
• Act as Observer/Controller/Trainer at exercises and deliver written observations within five business days.
• Develop Mission Training Assessments and Training Proficiency Assessments and support JTL development.
• Update Joint Training Plans and help states maintain data in the Joint Training database and DRRS.
• Support the Joint Event Life Cycle from concept to planning to execution and enter milestones in the database within five days.
• Lead training workshops on the Joint Training System and related databases in classified/unclassified environments.
• Support subordinates in building mission essential task lists for related units.
• Write executive summaries within three days and detailed trip reports within five days of events.
