Job summary

CORTEK seeks a Joint Training Requirements Specialist to support NGB-J37 remotely across a designated region within the continental United States. You will engage with state and territory Joint Force Headquarters, review training plans, and build customized training programs to implement all four phases of the Joint Training System.

You will act as an Observer, Controller, Trainer at exercises, deliver timely written observations, and develop mission training and proficiency assessments.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Seven years of experience in joint training, National Guard, or joint headquarters staff.
  • Experience across all four phases of the Joint Training System: requirements, plans, execution, and assessment.
  • Experience developing or updating Joint Training Plans.
  • Experience instructing or facilitating small group workshops at the senior leadership level.
  • Experience conducting training on DoD readiness and training systems, including DRRS, Joint Training Tool or JTIMS, and JLLIS.
  • Working knowledge of Mission Training Assessments and Training Proficiency Assessments.
  • Ability to obtain a Common Access Card and to work on classified systems, including SIPRNet.
  • Residence within the assigned region, and ability to respond quickly to short-notice requests.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25 to 35 percent within the continental United States.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional and military experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • United States citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the assigned specialist for one region, maintaining continuous engagement with each headquarters.
  • Conduct on-site support visits to review training plans and readiness progress with staffs, identify gaps, and build customized training plans.
  • Serve as an Observer, Controller, Trainer at exercises and deliver written observations within five business days.
  • Develop Mission Training Assessments and Training Proficiency Assessments, and support Task List development.
  • Update and complete Joint Training Plans, develop training objectives, and help states enter data into the joint training database and DRRS.
  • Support the Joint Event Life Cycle across the region: concept development, planning meetings, master scenario events list scripting, plan development, and milestones entry.
  • Teach training workshops on the Joint Training System, database, DRRS, and task list development in classified and unclassified environments.
  • Support subordinate organizations in building their task lists.
  • Write executive summaries within three business days and trip reports within five business days of events.
  • Capture lessons learned and route to the NGB Joint Doctrine and Lessons Learned Branch.
  • Deliver customer surveys after visits and feed regional metrics into the monthly program report.
