Job summary

TransUnion is seeking an experienced Red Teamer to join the Information Security Department. The role conducts threat emulation exercises, red/ purple team operations, and penetration testing to assess and improve security across systems, networks, and applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of active experience in penetration testing and red team operations.
• Ability to escalate privileges, move laterally, and emulate adversary goals.
• Strong experience with phishing, social engineering, and initial access methods.
• Extensive experience writing comprehensive, structured reports with actionable recommendations.
• Basic development experience (Python/Bash/Git) to create custom solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct threat emulation exercises and red team operations to uncover vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate on purple team exercises to test and improve security posture.
• Perform lateral movement within targets to test network segmentation and access controls.
• Demonstrate expertise in local privilege escalation techniques.
• Emulate threat actors to identify gaps in defenses and response readiness.
• Develop scripts and tools to enhance red team operations and realism.
• Conduct reconnaissance to identify attack vectors and targets.
• Test security of cloud environments and assess configurations and protections.
• Document findings, risks, and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
