Job summary

TransUnion is seeking an experienced Red Teamer to join the Information Security Department. The role is remote with occasional in-person attendance and reports to the Director of Cybersecurity.

You will conduct threat emulation exercises, red team operations, and penetration tests across systems, networks, and cloud environments to reveal vulnerabilities and improve defenses. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in penetration testing, strong phishing and social engineering skills, and a track record

Qualifications

• 5+ years of active experience in conducting penetration tests and working as a red teamer.
• Proficiency in compromising a modern organization, elevating privileges, and moving laterally.
• Strong experience in phishing techniques, social engineering, and initial access methods.
• Extensive experience in writing comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations.
• Basic development experience (python/bash/git/etc) to create custom solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct threat emulation exercises, simulating cyber-attacks to identify vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate on purple team exercises to evaluate security posture.
• Perform lateral movement testing to assess internal network segmentation and controls.
• Demonstrate expertise in local privilege escalation techniques.
• Emulate threat actors to identify gaps in defensive measures and adjust tactics.
• Develop and utilize custom scripts and tools to enhance red team operations.
• Conduct reconnaissance to identify targets and attack vectors.
• Test security of cloud environments and assess configurations and access controls.
• Document findings and recommendations in clear reports for stakeholders.
