Job summary

Arcarithm is hiring a Software Engineer / Scrum Master in Colorado Springs. You will split time between facilitating Agile ceremonies and hands-on Java development, contributing to mission-critical software for defense programs, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

The role requires 3–5+ years of Java experience, strong Agile/Scrum expertise, and experience with DoD-style programs; DoD environment experience and SAFe familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as software engineer or systems engineer supporting software teams.
• Strong understanding of Java/J2EE or OO development; C++ also desired.
• Familiarity with automated testing, build pipelines, and configuration management.
• Solid Agile and Scrum practice knowledge; Jira/Confluence use.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; 3+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead as hybrid Scrum Master/Software Engineer, reporting to the Product Owner and providing servant leadership while contributing hands-on Java development.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and guide PI planning and cross-team dependencies.
• Design, code, test, debug, and maintain Java applications, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools for the Planner subsystem.
• Leverage EVMS familiarity as a plus; drive on-time delivery of sprint and PI objectives.
