The OccuNet Company is seeking a Prior Authorization Pharmacist to lead clinical review of pharmacy prior authorization requests, ensuring appropriate medication use in line with member benefits and clinical guidelines.

Responsibilities include evaluating requests, coordinating appeals, and collaborating with prescribers, members, and internal teams to optimize care and manage costs. Strong pharmacotherapy knowledge and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree from accredited college of pharmacy.
• Active license in good standing; multi-state licensure may be required.
• Minimum 1 year of prior authorization or utilization management experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate prior authorization requests per member plans and guidelines.
• Complete reviews within turnaround time while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Apply evidence-based criteria to determine medical necessity and appropriateness.
• Identify cost-effective alternatives while ensuring patient safety.
• Coordinate appeals and communicate decisions with providers and members.
• Provide guidance on formulary policies and medication-related questions.
• Support utilization management initiatives and program development.
