Job summary

Nex is seeking a QA Manager to own end-to-end quality across hardware, firmware, PlayOS, and game experiences for Nex Playground. You will lead hands-on testing while shaping test strategy, release criteria, and the overall quality bar.

As part of the role, you will ensure hardware revisions work with PlayOS, partner with engineering to isolate issues, and drive automated regression coverage and release gates for OTA and firmware updates.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on QA in firmware, OS validation, or hardware-software integration.
• Experience validating firmware or OTA update flows, including failure handling, rollback, and recovery.
• Ability to create maintainable automated tests, tools, or scripts.
• Experience coordinating external QA partners or vendors and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware bring-up validation and ongoing compatibility across hardware revisions, PlayOS versions, and game builds.
• Define test strategies for firmware and PlayOS updates, including upgrade/downgrade paths and recovery scenarios.
• Develop automated regression coverage across device, firmware, OTA, system-integration, and game-compatibility workflows.
• Communicate quality status and release risk clearly to enable informed decisions.
• Drive defect triage and manage external vendors with clear acceptance criteria.
