Job summary

UST is seeking a QA Engineer to lead software testing across web, mobile, and enterprise applications. You will validate REST/SOAP APIs, perform end-to-end testing, and validate data with SQL/NoSQL databases.

You will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams in an Agile environment, participate in sprint ceremonies, and ensure QA processes and standards are followed. A strong background in manual testing and API validation is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Hands-on API Testing using Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Couchbase.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and data validation scripts.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, etc.).
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements to create detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Perform end-to-end Manual Testing across web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
• Validate REST/SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Perform backend database validation using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Develop and execute complex SQL queries for data verification and reporting.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects using Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to resolve issues and improve product quality.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure adherence to QA processes, standards, and best practices.
