Job summary

BYdrec, Inc. is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our client’s team in a fully remote role. The position emphasizes manual testing across web, SaaS, and mobile applications, with Python scripting for validation and automation.

Ideal candidates will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of investigating complex defects. Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude or Codex is required, and English proficiency is expected. LATAM candidates welcome.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in manual software testing, particularly with web/SaaS and mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
• Experience with test planning, functional testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, bug reproduction, and defect documentation.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or data validation.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Experience with agentic coding / AI-powered development tools such as Claude or Codex.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on manual testing of web, SaaS, and mobile applications.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Conduct functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing.
• Reproduce, investigate, and document software defects with clear and actionable details.
• Validate application behavior across different environments and use cases.
• Write and maintain Python scripts for test automation, data validation, and other QA activities.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Support automation efforts and contribute to improving testing efficiency and coverage.
• Use API testing tools to validate backend services and integrations.
• Analyze test results and communicate findings effectively.
• Leverage AI-powered coding tools to improve testing workflows.
