Job summary

Litehouse is a remote‑first district operating system building quality into every release. This Quality Engineer role focuses on ownership of tests, automation, and release confidence across web, mobile, and APIs.

You will craft reliable harnesses, run rigorous data validation, and collaborate with product and engineering to prevent defects from reaching customers. You will design repeatable test strategies, leverage Datadog for production insight, and help mock and verify AI-driven components,

Qualifications

• 4+ years in quality engineering or similar software role.
• Strong TypeScript or Python skills; treat test code like production code.
• Experience building browser automation with Playwright, Cypress, Puppeteer or Selenium.
• Solid SQL skills and data validation across systems.
• Experience testing APIs and diagnosing failures; GraphQL is a plus.
• Experience integrating tests into GitHub Actions or CI/CD.
• Hands-on observability to investigate failures; Datadog preferred.
• Judgment on what to automate and how deep to test based on risk.
• Clear communication and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Own hands-on QA across web, mobile, APIs, and integrations including exploratory and regression testing.
• Build and maintain reliable test automation and reusable infrastructure.
• Add quality gates to CI so feedback is fast and meaningful before merges.
• Investigate flaky tests and improve failure reporting; remove low-value checks.
• Validate data from ingestion to APIs with automated schema checks.
• Test multi-tenant isolation so data remains segregated.
• Ensure safe promotion across environments via migrations and seeds.
• Collaborate with engineers and product to make requirements testable.
• Use Datadog logs; investigate production signals and build regression coverage.
• Design test harnesses for AI agents and evaluate AI-generated code/tests.
