Job summary

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, seeks a Punjabi Language Specialist (SME) for hourly remote contractor work. Review translations of ARC questions, compare with English sources, and provide precise feedback to ensure accuracy, tone, and terminology.

You will rate AI outputs, write high-quality rewrites, and help set best practices in Punjabi writing across dialects and scripts (Gurmukhi/Shahmukhi), supporting world-class AI models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Linguistics, Punjabi/English Literature, Communications or a related field.
• Native or near-native Punjabi proficiency with reading and writing.
• Strong English proficiency (minimum C1) to provide feedback in English.
• 3+ years in writing, editing, translation, QA, journalism, or language-focused work.
• Deep Punjabi grammar knowledge and ability to explain fixes.
• Experience with script requirements (Gurmukhi and/or Shahmukhi) and multiple registers.

Responsibilities

• Review and quality-check existing translations of English science benchmark questions (ARC) in Punjabi.
• Compare original translations and AI corrections against the English source for accuracy and faithfulness.
• Decide outcomes (accept original, accept AI fix, edit translation, escalate) and provide brief review comments.
