The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Public Utility Enforcement Officer to patrol and enforce motor carrier safety across Dauphin and Lebanon Counties. This home-based role starts with a standard 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule, with travel as needed and weekends off.

Qualified candidates have four years of police or regulatory enforcement experience and a four-year college degree in police sciences or related field. Residency in PA counties is required within six months.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional police experience or equivalent.
• Four years of enforcement experience with a governmental regulatory agency's laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to motor vehicles.
• Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in police sciences or law enforcement.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Inspections: Inspect commercial motor vehicles to determine safe operating conditions
• Safety Enforcement: Place unsafe vehicles or drivers Out-of-Service when necessary
• Agency Collaboration: Work with State and Local Police during joint enforcement efforts
• Safety Audits: Conduct audits to ensure new motor carriers understand safety regulations and management practices
