Job summary

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking a drone operations professional to remotely operate unmanned aircraft in response to calls for service, providing real-time situational awareness to deputies and command staff. You will perform pre-flight and post-flight checks, coordinate with dispatch, and maintain and update drone systems.

Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma and an active FAA Part 107 certificate, with experience in public safety environments and knowledge of GIS

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Current FAA Part 107 Small UAS certificate.

Responsibilities

• Remotely operate drones in response to calls for service and public safety incidents.
• Provide real-time aerial intelligence to deputies, supervisors and command staff.
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections for safety and compliance.
• Coordinate with dispatch during active incidents to relay timely information.
• Operate drones from command centers and at incident locations.
• Maintain equipment, update software, and inspect deployed drone systems.
• Manage unmanned aircraft mission logs and digital evidence.
