Job summary

Dept of State Health Services in San Antonio is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to lead ESF-8 public health emergency planning and response activities. The role requires coordinating with local, state, and federal partners to develop regional plans and ensure readiness.

Under daily direction, the coordinator will write, train, facilitate meetings, and provide technical assistance. Travel up to 30% and telework eligibility are included in a full-time exempt position with benefits

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in public health or emergency management.
• Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field.
• FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-300, IS-400, IS-700, and IS-800 within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ESF-8 public health emergency preparedness activities.
• Develop and evaluate regional ESF-8 plans and procedures.
• Provide technical assistance and training to partners.
• Represent Region 8 in ESF-8 workgroups.
• Assist with readiness exercises and after-action reviews.
