Bantam Communications is seeking a curious, motivated Public Affairs Intern to help advance our mission of accelerating advanced energy deployment across the United States. You will support Research, Campaigns, Advocacy, and Communications teams in a flexible, remote capacity, gaining hands-on exposure to how public affairs campaigns come together.

Qualifications

• Emerging or early-career experience in public affairs, campaigns, policy, communications, renewable energy, or related area.
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Well-organized and able to manage time across multiple tasks
• Curiosity and genuine interest in Bantam's mission
• Coachable and responsive to feedback
• Comfort using AI tools and openness to adapting as technology evolves
• Self-directed and able to work effectively in a fully remote environment

Responsibilities

• Supports assigned tasks and workstreams under the direction of teams, helping move day-to-day work forward and learning how Bantam's campaigns come together.
• Works across Bantam's departments in a flexible, supporting capacity, assisting different teams as needs arise.
• Conducts research and gathers information on stakeholders, policy landscape, opposition, public opinion, and media inputs.
• Drafts and edits communications materials, such as memos, talking points, and social/digital content, with team feedback.
• Supports client and partner communications, e.g., preparing materials, taking meeting notes, tracking follow-ups.
• Helps coordinate tasks and timelines across teams to keep workstreams organized.
• Documents and improves team processes and workflows; contributes ideas to optimize work.
• Uses AI tools to draft, revise, and polish materials and learns to apply them effectively with guidance.
• Participates in team meetings and learning opportunities to build skills across Bantam's public affairs work.
