Day in the Life of an Enrollment Coordinator
- Receives notifications from the Clinician Onboarding Liaison (COL).
- Works closely with the recruiting team during provider onboarding, providing weekly credentialing updates with payors.
- Obtains and maintains provider credentialing documents, including expiring ones.
- Provides timely information on providers for Credentialing Committee review and approval.
- Escalates credentialing and payor issues to the Director as needed.
- Tracks, generates, and prepares applications for providers.
- Conducts payer research on providers.
- Adds providers to the credentialing report.
- Reviews returned packets for accuracy and communicates updates to providers.
- Reviews weekly exception reports to prioritize issues.
- Follows up with providers for unreturned paperwork.
- Sends updated credentials to payers and completes credentialing applications for new facilities.
- Researches state requirements and creates SOPs accordingly.
- Works with stakeholders on new facility enrollments and keeps them informed of challenges.
- Handles provider withdrawal notifications and updates.
- Generates payer paperwork for re-credentialing.
- Partners with COL, credentialing coordinators, and other stakeholders for onboarding providers and facilities with various payors.
- Maintains provider enrollment processes and credentialing databases/websites/portals (CAQH, NPPES, Navinet, Availity, PECOS).
- Supports the department and assists with payer issues related to credentialing.
- Meets regularly with health plans to obtain provider statuses and address claims issues.
- Works with payors to ensure timely enrollment and active status.
- Escalates trends and issues to relevant stakeholders.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in physician credentialing and/or enrollment.
- Experience with credentialing databases/websites/portals (CAQH, NPPES, PECOS).
- Experience with Modio software preferred.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle processes.
- Overtime may be required.
Schedule
- Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm
