Weekday AI seeks an independent contractor scientist to validate protein target annotations by reviewing primary literature and UniProt records. You will assess database annotations, document discrepancies, and provide evidence-based summaries to support high-quality biological datasets powering AI-driven drug discovery.

Remote opportunity in the United States with 10-20 hours per week for 1-2 months and potential extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher with relevant lab experience in biotech/pharma.
• Hands-on experience with binding or functional assays.
• Experience with UniProt workflows and dataset validation.

Responsibilities

• Review publications and patents to verify protein target assignments against UniProt records.
• Evaluate accuracy of protein annotations in large-scale bioactivity databases using scientific evidence.
• Identify, categorize, and document incorrect target assignments using validation guidelines.
• Recommend correct UniProt accession numbers when discrepancies are found.
• Prepare concise, evidence-based summaries explaining validation decisions.
• Collaborate with research teams to improve data quality for AI-enabled drug discovery.
