Telex LLC is seeking a Senior Protection and Control Technician (Remote) to support utility transmission and substation projects in Greensburg, PA. The role requires relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and experience with DFRs, SCADA, and protection schemes.

Preferred candidates have 1–5 years of field experience, proficiency with Omicron and Doble test equipment, and strong communication skills. Travel and per diem opportunities are available, with comprehensive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Experience with protective relaying equipment, DFRs, SCADA systems, and automation.
• Strong understanding of three‑phase power systems and protection schemes.
• Experience with relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and substation maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, installation, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment and automation systems.
• Conduct relay testing using Doble Protection Suite, Omicron Test Universe, and RTS.
• Execute functional and scheme testing including reclosing and breaker failure.
• Troubleshoot protocols like DNP3 and Modbus; use Wireshark and related tools.
• Develop standardized testing procedures and document results.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and engineers to ensure project success.
• Provide guidance to junior technicians when needed.
