Job summary

Telex LLC is seeking a Protection & Control Technician II (Remote) to perform advanced testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of substation protection and control systems. This role requires demonstrated field experience, the ability to work more independently, and the capability to support complex logic and scheme testing.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of field experience in relay testing and commissioning.
• Experience with relay testing and substations is preferred.
• Must be able to travel and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, and collect data on electrical systems.
• Perform functional testing of relay panels and controls with limited supervision.
• Conduct isolation, setpoint, and scheme testing (reclosing, transfer schemes, etc.).
• Execute end-to-end relay testing using Doble, RTS, or Test Universe software.
• Support installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relays and SCADA systems.
• Help develop standard commissioning and testing procedures.
• Prepare detailed customer reports with root-cause analysis.
• Represent the company professionally during customer interactions.
