Job summary

EVONA currently seeks a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer to own propulsion hardware for a 12-month engagement. This fully remote, US-based role offers an open hourly rate and a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities include designing motor insulation, thrusters, nozzles, closures, and structures, and performing high-temperature mechanism design with rigorous analysis and tolerance stacks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8+ years of mechanical design with propulsion hardware experience.
• Hardware taken from concept through manufacture and test.
• Strong CAD in NX, Creo or SolidWorks.
• FEA and thermal analysis skills.
• Expert GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
• Self-directed, able to build your own network remotely.
• US-based and eligible to work on ITAR-controlled programs.

Responsibilities

• Design motor insulation, thrusters, nozzles, closures and structures.
• Design mechanisms for high-temperature environments.
• Run structural, dynamic and thermal analyses to refine designs.
• Apply GD&T and run tolerance analyses.
• Select materials and design for manufacture.
• Support test and integration, and own mass budgets and technical risk.
