Job summary

E Tech Group invites applicants for the Proposal and Estimating Engineer role in the United States. You will lead estimate development for industrial automation projects across Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and other sectors, coordinating with engineering teams to ensure accurate cost projections and compelling proposals.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years in automation design, and proficient use of estimating methods, Excel, and ERP costing systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of Industrial Automation experience directly related to design, controls, programming, and electrical engineering.
• Proficiency with estimating methods, tools, and proposal management standards.
• Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills; familiarity with ERP costing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and RFP/RFQ documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work to be estimated by reviewing requests for proposals (RFP), engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Meet with customers to review the technical scope and engineering requirements.
• Develop estimates by identifying labor, material, travel expenses, and time requirements by studying RFPs, engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
