Job summary

Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) in Washington State seeks a Program Manager, Educator Preparation to co-lead educator preparation program reviews and teacher residency initiatives. The role emphasizes advancing equity, engaging diverse stakeholders, and coordinating statewide and national efforts.

The position allows full-time telework with periodic in-person collaboration days and occasional travel for board meetings and program reviews.

Qualifications

• Requires Master’s degree in education, Public Policy, or Public Administration (or similar).
• Or a bachelor’s degree in education, Public Policy, or Public Administration with 3 years of related experience.
• Experience with large and small group facilitation and project management.
• Demonstrated ability to advance equity or social justice in education.
• Ability to address a range of public audiences, both formally and informally.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in team environments with tight timelines.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud-based, collaborative, digital tools (Google Suite; MS O365).
• Willingness to travel statewide and nationally.
• Must reside in Washington state or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage educator preparation program review and teacher residency program support.
• Integrate diversity, inclusion, equity, and cultural responsiveness into policies and practices.
• Develop materials, reports, and presentations for PESB, Legislature, or stakeholders.
• Plan and facilitate work groups and learning communities.
• Communicate with community members and partners to provide outreach and gather feedback.
• Represent PESB’s interests in statewide and national work groups.
