What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

1. Educate and provide direction to providers and coding staff on proper CPT, ICD-10, and HCPC coding
2. Review and respond to coding inquiries from physicians and coding staff in a timely manner
3. Facilitate virtual events and training sessions to address coding needs
4. Create and maintain training materials for coding professionals
5. Conduct coding audits and develop action plans to improve department accuracy

What is Required (Qualifications):

1. Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
2. Minimum of five (5) years of coding and/or coding audit educator experience
3. CPC credential (Certified Professional Coder) through AAPC required
4. Experience in training and education in both large and small group settings
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reviews

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

1. Certified AAPC Instructor credential, which can substitute for 2 years of work experience
2. Additional coding specialty credentials are highly desired
3. Experience with Epic or similar healthcare systems
4. Proven ability to develop customized coding curriculum
5. Strong presentation skills to deliver training effectively
