Position: Remote Profee Coder II - Hospitalist

Start Date: 5/26/2025

Pay Range: $26.00 - $33.00

Type: PERM

Department: Health Information Management

Location: Remote

Position Summary

This is an advanced level coding position. The Coder II is a senior Level Professional Fee Coder with at least three or more years of experience in multiple specialties, focusing on Hospitalist encounters. Strong Profee E/M and Diagnosis coding experience are highly preferred. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation to assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes, resolving edits, reviewing denials, and collaborating with providers and the Revenue Management Team to resolve coding issues. Experience in general surgery coding and E/M credentialing is highly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years recent Professional Fee Hospitalist Coding and abstracting experience.
  • Experience with EPIC, Encoder Pro preferred.
  • Credentials: CCS-P, COC, CPC required.
  • Technical savviness and remote work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years Professional Fee Hospitalist Coding experience.
  • Profee E/M Credential CPMA highly preferred.
Working Hours
  • Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours/week, hours between 6 am-6 pm in their time zone.
  • Flexible hours during training and prebill review.
